Escalade Gets Company! The 2020 Cadillac XT6

With the Escalade large and in charge at Cadillac dealerships, is there room for another three-row SUV in the brand’s lineup? Caddy certainly thinks so. The XT6 is for a different kind of buyer. Trimmer and more car-like than the ‘Slade there’s loads of standard equipment and a lower price. Tom Voelk travels to Washington D.C. to drive both the Premium Luxury and AWD Sport models (and yes there is a difference, it’s not just trim and graphics).

Cadillac arranged travel and lodging for this video. Opinions are my own.

It makes me a little sad to see this channel with under 100k subscribers. Excellent, consistently top-notch reviews, camera work, everything. Much better content than some much more popular channels.

Thank goodness for reviewers like you. You consider cars in a real world way. Most others think reviewing a car is finding things to complain about.

Watching this right after the Aviator review was hard...Lincoln has truly made a leap into the sky and succeeded! Thanks Tom!

I just picked up my 2022 XT6 Premium Luxury last week and I couldn't be happier with it! Terrific looking and functional, great space and comfort, reasonably priced for it's segment, great tech and safety features, plenty  of power and a smooth ride! It's my first domestic US car brand  purchase in 20 years.

Great First Look. I think the XT6 looks good and could serve Cadillac well in their lineup. Plus, all the colors presented look great.

As always excellent reviews Tom, this car is a mixed bag for me 🤔 I find the escalas design language to be better executed on the ct5 and ct4, something about it just on the xt6, specifically that hearse looking rear quarter. And the revised xt5 somehow manages to have a nicer interior, despite the xt6's emulation on the xt5 inside.

Even though the 3.6 is long in the tooth, GM has made updates to it throughout the years to ensure it's not left behind. It may not seem necessary for Cadillac, however it's more than necessary for this vehicle. The 3.0tt would've been too much for this to handle since it's on the same platform as the Acadia.

Personally, my top pick for the segment is the XC90.

Cadillac can never get a break with you folks.

You really do have the best reviews. I find myself engaged throughout the whole video unlike other reviewers where I sometimes scan through parts I find uninteresting. Thumbs up!

Lincoln Aviator is the winner for me! It has a lot more hp and a plug-in hybrid system, it is all around a lot nicer in terms of design both inside and out, and a lot more features like air suspension and massaging seats!

Your video reviews are just the right length. So many others go on and on and don’t usually give you info you are looking for until the end which often 30 minutes into it.

The design is really boosting my hopes for the new Escalade ESV

This channel and its content is on par with the quality of Velocity’s AutoWeek. Excellent work.

Kia Telluride smokes this vehicle in every single way.

After watching that review, I feel that every car needs to be the same standards.

These American car companies are a joke, this thing is $73, 000 and has an interior that looks that cheap and ill fitting? You can get a fully loaded Hyundai Palisade for $45, 000, how the hell is this worth $30, 000 more?

No comparison to the new Lincoln Aviator. Its front drive re-badged Traverse or maybe Acadia. Same chassis and motor.

I don't understand why everyone is so hard on Cadillac, the XT6 looks like a great contender for the GLS/X7/Q7

It's built on it's on platform you say?

C1XX is the crossover variant of the E2XX platform, replacing the Theta Premium and Lambda platforms.

Vehicles built on C1XX:

2018–present Buick Enclave
2020–present Cadillac XT6
2018–present Chevrolet Traverse
