Показать описание
This client drove 2,600 miles to have me rehab their R32. We know the R32 is iconic. But like all MK4s it has some issues. In this video we rehab a ton of things to this 100k mile R32 VR6 to get it to Wookies in the Woods. We are replacing a VR6 timing chain, VR6 clutch, VR6 water pump, FULL VR6 exhaust, R32 shifter repair and more!

Even as a Honda guy and having not owned a VW in over 20 years, I must say I enjoy the time and dedication you and other VW enthusiast put into the brand. Car guys respect clean cars regardless of logo.

Aluminum pan cracks when lowered cars hit things, steel bends before it cracks.

The audio quality of the videos must be praised. It struck me at the most random time and it blew my mind how the audio from the recorded video and the audio of the voice-over is almost identical and the transitions are so smooth, that you can rarely tell the difference. Top stuff.

Fun fact about Alberta and snow...I lived there for 5 years in the '90s...they don't use much if at all any salt, they lay down aggregate on the road for traction over salt...it works better however it can be a bear with glass some times.

Incredible how it seem you like those R32 and know everything on them. Cool to see people with the same passion.

Charles, you are the first YT mechanic/car guy that I have seen remove the stickers from the tires. Thanks you! 😂
I’m glad I’m not alone when the sticker tires drive me crazy

It's always satisfying to see an R taken care of properly, especially when I keep tabs on dismantlers (for parts, just in case) who seem to be parting/junking them on a weekly basis (exaggeration but it's frequent)

Even thought I’m terrified to open the bonnet on my MK5, I love your videos, they are the best.

Man. How cool would it be to be the owner of this car watching this video? Y'all have fun at Wookies!

When you were going through the oh and while we're here. It reminded me of when I had my mk3 Vr6 GTI redone last year.... Feels like everything got touched.

Great video man, and awesome to see it at WITW. It was definitely nice to see and the owner (McKay) is super cool too! A lot of work done, but those new engine mounts at 36:30 .. whoa ... engine hardly moved when you rev'ed it.

Men you really are humble because this man is a living repair manual I am not a mechanic but would be scared of doing VW stuff, happy to see the videos and make me a bit more confident in case I need to do something

Hi, I am glad to still see mk4 golf on your channel, even tho I don't have R32, it is a plesure watching it.
For people that lower mk4's to ground, try engine mount spacers, i had problems with inner cv joint breaking and engine mount spacers helped a ton.
Keep up the good work :D

I'm from Alberta, I was surprise to see someone down there from here. Not much rust here, we use sand and small rocks on the road for traction in the winter.

The O-rings for the bevel box are standard metric sized o-rings. (13.5X3.5), (20X3.15) and (68X2.5). Next time ya'll are in Knoxville area, let me know. I've got beer, pinball, choco lab and if needed 2 guest bedrooms.

Mr Charles, I couldn’t make Wookies this year, but it’s my goal to go and shake your hand. Your videos taught me everything I know today and I want to say thank you. Rebuilt so much watching your videos (and Pauly of course)
Have fun hopefully I see you next year!

The amount of detail, time, and effort you put into the work, let alone the video to capture it for us, is unreal. Thank you so much. And yes, @Volkswagen, sponsor WITW!!
