"Text to textile" is so such a cool and fitting line considering that the latter derives from the former and both ultimately from Latin "texere", to weave

As a fashion enjoyer and an amateur seamstress I’m so happy to see someone who actually gets it! There’s so much of a difference that wearing just linen vs cotton as your main garment communicates, from price point to where you intended to spend your time. Fashion is a language that changes and shifts from culture to person, how I use and see fashion is naturally different from how you do, just like how the way I speak is different from how you will! It’s all so fun and I wish more people got it!

What's my fashion? Is it "Don't look, I don't want you to."

I hate how fashion is perceived to reflect your personality because the kind of clothes that best reflect my personality aren't readily available in my size, region, or price range. I'm not wearing the clothes I wear because they're my aesthetic, I wear them because they're readily available in my size, cheap, and comfortable.

I think that explains why "UwU" and "OwO" are being agreed by society that they refer to kawaii culture and furry culture

I also find the social norms fascinating since pink used to be a color associated with men. Too bright and bold for a cultured woman. Not demure. Then, it somehow became a feminine color. Now we see more and more men wearing it again (often calling it "salmon"). Social norms are so silly.

I keep hearing 'coquette' as 'cokehead'

Counterpoint: Society often percieves masculine dressing women as gay. Because of that, it is common among lesbians that dress feminine to feel like maybe they should dress more masc than they do to let people know that they're gay. They DO want people to know, and so they feel like they should signal it with their clothes, but in the end they don't bc that style doesn't feel like them. If style was purely communication, I feel like it probably wouldn't work out that way

I love this guy. I have listened to him ramble on and on about different corners of etymology for hours and I do not regret it one bit. Watching every single short this guy uploads is better education than my Ela class.

No, I didn’t know that. Because I don’t really use Instagram.

So chameleons are fashion icons (since they change color to communicate)

I actually dislike this aspect because people assume things just because of the color or style Im in the mood to wear 😅 ah oh well
