I first heard Kali at a Ham On Everything party, where she stuck out like a sore thumb (in a good way) and have been trying to get her on the show for months. She sounds like she was plucked from a lowrider oldies compilation, and looks like she was an extra in The Fifth Element. With her unique voice, nuanced writing, great ear for beats, and extravagant fashion, I have a feeling labels will be frothing at the mouth for her soon.

When I first heard this 10 years ago I was broke and living out of my car. The Por Vida album was a huge part of my peace throughout my struggles as well...here we are now and I have a home that's paid off as well as a daughter and two twin boys to raise them in while Kali is dropping this gem officially.
