After months of searching for what I have overlooked for many years, I found this good work by the Holy Father! from my search thus far I have found a good perception: Repent, repeat Baptismal Vow, examine conscience, identify impediments to a contrite heart, seek Grace for a contrite heart, make a good Confession, complete the penance, and be restored in the relationship of Christ.

It is not that I can't find a priest for confession, the local priest told me it won't be until easter 2026(it is now mid june 2024) before I can be confirmed into the Catholic Church. Bizar

God is not restricted to any church walls. He is omnipresent. Call upon the Lord Jesus in all your need and He will save you and give forgiveness of sins and eternal life, once for all. Going to confession is saying that God has not dealt with the sin question completely at calvary's cross. Christ has 'sat down' at the right hand of the throne of God. It is a finished work.

This makes no sense. I can confess to God but then still have to go to confession later? Then why confess to God at all? Or why go to confession when you just confessed to Holy God ?

Shame on the church for making anyone have to jump through hoops to ask forgiveness. Jesus didn't require any certificates to follow him. He simply asked. I believe anyone can ask God directly to be forgiven, however it does a mans conscience, good to go to confession. It kind of validates your forgiveness if another man tells you so. I am a catholic myself and get very frustrated with church practices.This world needs all the help it can get!!!

We the Catholics do SPEAK with God everyday, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but as Catholics the priest is ESSENTIAL FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. THAT IS THE CATHOLIC DOCTRINE. Nothing changed about it.
