Yes, the blindness from those is awful! I'm glad you were able to get help! I get the auras, flashing lights, and severe blurriness so I can't see my hand in front of my face let alone to walk around or drive, etc. I love learning other people's tricks to getting through the different types migraines. The eye mask is a great idea! Hopefully you dont get those too often.

OMG ME TOO!!! AROUND CHRISTMAS last year my daughter and I were in TARGET and the same thing happened to me. I just had to suffer on the highway driving for 45 miles lol sucks I KNOW🦋

I have something very similar to this, but mine is due to epilepsy. I have focal epilepsy and my auras (which I have since found out are also a form of seizures) involve me slowly going blind in my left eye before a seizure. I panic from it too as I really don’t want to experience another mal seizure. Even though partial focals aren’t much fun either lol - but not as bad as a mal. I’ve had this happen to me whilst I’ve been out too and thankfully so far I haven’t been on my own when it happens. Take good care love.

This exact thing happens to me! I never knew what it was called until you said ocular migraine. Wow!

I got one of these 2 weeks after the eclipse this year. I looked at the eclipse without the protective glasses and it apparently strained my eyes and made the muscles in my right eye spasm, which triggered an ocular migraine. I had to go see an eye specialist and that's what they told me anyway after they dilated my eye and looked inside it to make sure there wasn't any permanent damage. It scared me so bad!! I thought I was hallucinating and it was terrifying bc I had never had anything like that happen to me before! My vision was strobing and sparkling and there was like, a crescent shaped orb in my peripheral vision that lasted for almost an hour. Hard to explain to someone who's never had it happen what it actually looks like. I couldn't focus on anything but the strobing and while it was happening I was having the WORST panic attack bc I had no clue why it was happening to me or what it was and when it was still happening after 30 minutes I started panicking that it would never stop! The relief I felt when my vision finally went back to normal was indescribable. Thank God that was the only time I had it happen (knock on wood) lol. I feel awful for anybody who has to experience the fear of something like that happening to them not knowing what it is or why it's happening or if it will ever stop! It is truly terrifying to suddenly not be able to see!
