Feels like mgr ended. But the war still rages within.

The lyrics in this song are interesting. Raiden thought he could walk off the battle field and live a normal life, but the person he is inside because of his upbringing will never change.

Throughout the entire game Raiden fights the winds of destruction while taking the moral high ground at every turn. The winds of destruction call him out for this during every fight because they know who he truly is inside. He is just like them, the only silver lining being that Raiden is still lying to himself. I can honestly see Raiden being one of them. the only thing that really sets him apart is that Raiden fights under his own flag and fights his own war.

The lyrics imply that Raiden agrees with Armstrong's overall message but couldn't stand by and let innocent people die. Raiden isn't just discontent with society, he is discontent with who he truly is and tries to put on a mask of self righteous "protect the weak" bullshit in order to hide the fact that he is a psychopathic death machine with a human heart, both metaphorically and literally. This game isn't about revenge or about the deeper meaning of war. It's about accepting yourself for who you truly are, both the good and the bad. And the winds of destruction represent what Raiden can become if he keeps repressing who he truly is. Thats why their bodies are more mechanically grotesque than his. Both Raiden and Sam still cling onto their humanity and refuse to become true monsters. Raiden appearing more human at the end of the game symbolizes that he won the spiritual war within.

This song still breaks my heart everytime I listen to it because I know it's the end of my favorite game. The lyrics are pithy, relatable, and weave a beautiful tale of someone still struggling towards success. When I'm depressed, angry, or just frustrated and confused with life I remind myself "No matter how jagged your path is, you'll always find your way back to the road" and it helps me through some of the toughest times. Thank you for this masterpiece, I sincerely mean it

Looking down on the cars on the highway
Stream of tail lights
Everybody advancing together, to so willingly sacrifice rights
When people accept they're cogs in the system
Give up free will, conform
Individual pieces of dust swirl together
Become a full storm
Looking down on the burgeoning city
The skyscrapers rise
Even men with the greatest intentions
Start believing in their own lies
We can borrow from the future
But eventually someone's got to pay
The only way out of the cycle, is to strike out and pave your own way!
Yeah...
We all fight our own fight
Will you fuel the desire to win?
Always struggling with the truth
Of the life that might have been
But no matter how jagged your path is, you always come back to the road
When the dust of battle settles
The war still rages within!

When I feel down, this song evokes the thought of light at the end of the tunnel.
When I feel happy, this song feels like a reflection on my past struggles.

In retrospect, I was very much definitely thinking of this song as I watched the end credits of Cyberpunk 2077 (~post 2.0 update, given the time when I was playing it.)

This is a song, to me, about coming to terms with the actions we've made so far, and that despite our desires for a "happy ending, " we know damn well that it's not gonna happen... not without a helluva war of our own to fight, at least.

this song always hits in the feels, you go through the whole game with the awesome action packed music, then you get this as you finish, now you just sit there thinking about all youve down and how its now over, and its more than just mgrr being over, its the whole metal gear series as this takes place last in the timeline meaning snake, big boss, raiden, all their stories are over, metal gears story is over, all with this amazing song.

Wish they will make a sequel of this game. The best game I have ever paid for.

This soundtrack speaks volumes beyond the game itself and I think the tone is very fitting, probably my favourite mgrr song. Thank you so much for making this.❤

somehow, some part of this song feels like old minecraft c418 sound tracks, both recalling the path taken and the journey and the sounds like those short soundtrack when you're alone, deciding what to do next for the survival experience

I remember when I first beat the game, I lose the ability to move and here I was, looking at raiden's blade rotating like that f*cking chips video, and this track forced me to keep sitting through the whole thing without moving by how good it was.

Thanks you Jamie.

By far the most underrated track in the MGRR OST, and one of the best as well.
