I put 200 tracks on YT which weren't uploaded before and that wasn't easy 😥. Now I decided to upload some songs I really like and are already on YouTube. Simply stolen from other uploaders 😁😍😘. Thanks for that. I do not hold any copyrights to any images or music presented in this video. For Cultural, Educational and Archival purposes, only.

Robert Lamm's organ solo on this song is just dazzling. Great singer, too.

This is my favorite song, by any rock band. I have introduced many people (mostly much younger than me) and all were just blown away by it. Any radio station that plays "classic rock' should have this song on their playlist.

I was driving along, listening to Serius XM when this Southern California Purple popped up.
Now, I have seen Chicago live and played brass since I was 9. I had no idea who did this song.
If my Hyundai speakers weren't so woefully under powered, I would save shredded them.
Thanks for the memories.
My new fantasy is getting a band together & playing this down at the Moose hall & blowing some minds.

Terry Kath's lead passage at 3:35 against the modulating horns is pure beauty from a higher place that can only be found right there. RIP, much loved creative master and musical Genius (just can't say it enough)

The music world had no idea what they lost when Terry passed. Criminally underrated monster he was.

When I turned 16 in 1970 I got a job at Kroger. With my first paycheck I bought the White 4 album set by Chicago. Great then and great now. Jimi knew how great Terry was.

The cut that introduced me to CTA - summer 1969. RIP Terry Kath.

Once upon a time there was a band known as Chicago Transit Authority. They were mighty and muscular.

Can even hear the chattering just before they began playing. The times I've heard it on the radio they usually cut that part out.

Once again... TERRY KATH! His lead progression at 3:35 is the most unlikely, melodically PERFECT and intriguing passages of all time. We can try to copy it today in 2022, but Terry Kath pulled it off by himself in 1969. Good God y'all. Only a musical genius would come up with something so unique!

I’d heard other songs by Chicago before this one, but there was something about this song that resonated with me when my dad was blaring it from his speakers one day. I was at the time was an unabashed punk rocker, but I dug that main riff enough to keep listening (more foreshadowing). After hearing this song, I was hooked on the first album, which led me down the rabbit hole to their second and third albums. There’s good stuff on all their albums that featured Terry Kath, but I still maintain that their first three albums stand up against any other band’s first three albums. I love the original incarnation of Chicago, and I want them to know that they affected other generations than just the boomers. ✌️

I bought this album when it came out and SCP was the cut that we played while getting ready to go dancing and bar hopping in southern ca. lived in Vista ca and in one night would end up at Harvey Wallbanger or one of the many other rock bars around. Das Schiff in oceanside was another great starting place, Peanuts in carlsbad could go on....so much music and wonderful bars...gone so many afraid

Chicago Tránsit Authority 1969, in it's beginnings, the leadership of Terry Kath was already noticeable on the guitar giving tone in the Riff of each song until his Trágic physical disseaparance 🎸🎸🎹🥁🎷🎺
