What It Takes To Perform In 'Disney On Ice'

Senior video correspondent Graham Flanagan went behind the scenes of "Disney on Ice" to find out what it takes to perform in the show. 

He spent a day with the cast and crew ahead of the debut of "Road Trip Adventures," which is currently on tour in North America. Many of the cast grew up in the world of competitive ice skating, a world that the show's director of talent said the company scouts for potential cast members.

The latest show, titled "Road Trip Adventures," goes beyond skating, requiring the cast to learn challenging choreography that incorporates aerial work and gymnastics.

The "Road Trip Adventures" show incorporates characters from recent Disney properties like "Toy Story 4," "Aladdin," and "Mary Poppins Returns."

Bruh imagine being a pro skater, getting into Disney on ice, and then getting told you're gonna be a giant spork

Coming from an ex-skater, the pure fact they can do this many tricks on the ice which is SUPER scratched up, etc. is insane, much less adding the costumes and aerial work.

These skaters go through HELL to have this chance. Most people will never understand what they go through. The all have my respect. Blood, sweat and tears go into this act.

figure skating takes A LOT of hard work and patience. they DEFINITELY deserve more pay than what they get.

As a figure skater I can tell you that....
What they are doing is SO hard. It's on thing to just do a move, but to do it fast, efficiently, and with added in choreographed moves, that takes a lot of skill. Especially in those outfits

One of my skating coaches was Cinderella on Disney on ice when she met her husband, who was Prince Charming. Their daughter is now Anna in the show. Their son skates competitively with his parents coaching him.
