Σπεῦδε Βραδέως (Hurry Slowly) Ancient Greek Lyre Meditation Music

Показать описание
Just came across this ancient Greek proverb which seems to fit my music quite well. A lot of the rock'n roll music that inspired me to pick up a guitar early on had the typical load/ quiet dynamic. The lyre is similarly suited to a fast/ slow approach, which is nothing novel in itself, but as it is a solo instrument the possibility for all sorts of improvised tempo changes is far greater. The instrument really comes alive with this technique, and sounds a lot better than the plodding same tempo tracks I was playing earlier on.
The expression Σπεῦδε Βραδέως also known in its Latin form 'Festina Lente' has been popular with lots of people from Augustus to Goethe. So remember that in whatever you do pacing is important. There's a time to speed as much as there's a time to slow down. Don't let stress make you hurry through the few moments of peace we get, but don't be slow to miss opportunities either. Hit the Aristotlean mean and acquire the hexis to know when is the kairos or right time for both.
