Your hands seemingly move without thought, yet with great purpose.

I love it. I liken it to the ability to squint, but know exactly what you’re looking at in detail. You can form the true image in your minds eye, piece by piece, as it comes into focus. You can see a river, or a grassy plain, whereas I only see colors and lines. Thats why it’s so enjoyable to me. It’s a skill I don’t have, and may not be suited to attain.

I am a survivor of child abuse. For many years, I cared for my dementia parents and helped them with their rehabilitation. I quit my job, gave up my youth, and now they are both dead. I still have nightmares and have a hard time, but I still try to find peace of mind through writing and painting. I'm new to oil painting. I'm very happy when I paint.
