Fall 1971 and this was in heavy rotation. Was working alone on a 250 acre berry farm in the Puyallup Valley and had one of trucks that had a decent radio. Sun was nice and warm in the PNW. Rod's Song made me consider not going to college that year and to take year off.

At this point I've watched about 50+ in this series, and I just love how they SEEMINGLY casually toss these songs off. Now mando and lap steel would not seem to be a logical combo for a duet on this one, and yet, here, they sound so natural together. You can tell they're having a lot of fun playing these songs across the breadth of the material they're covering, and that joy is pretty dang infectious. That's a pretty nice contribution to today's world.
