In this video I'm comparing the lowest priced chainsaws of the big 3 Echo, Stihl & Husqvarna.
I'm comparing following things:
- Technical differences: Chain installation and tensioning, engine access, air filters, weight including bar, chain fuel and oil, …
- Cold and warm start (6:40)
- Bore cut (9:42)
- Cutting speed 10x10cm logs (10:15)
- Cutting speed 20x20cm logs (10:50)
I needed to se a dealer to readjust the Husqvarne 120, because it was not performing well. you can see the 2nd chance from (12:31)
- Side by side cutting Stihl vs Echo vs Husqvarna (14:53)

I really like the simplicity of the echo, owned a small one in the past. Never owned or ran a husky. Currently have a stihl. No complaints with the stihl. I realize these are all straight out of the box with no tuning but that stihl just sounded so crisp when running compared to the other two.

I have the Stihl 170 and the echo 352. Both fire up cold right away. The echo is more powerful, but the Stihl is just fantastic. You can't go wrong with either, and I'm a Stihl fanboy.

I just bought myself my first chainsaw. I went with the Echo CS310 . I don't know the difference in chainsaws so far I'm very pleased with this saw .

I've used Husqvarna and I've used Stihl, the first time I used the echo I said I'll never go back. Echo is awesome very underrated and very strong comfortable saw. Get the 590

Very good comparison between the three machines. I have the Stihl ms170. It is a quality machine. I also own a Stihl leaf blower. It is high quality as well. I own a straight shaft Echo brush cutter and a Echo curved shaft weed trimmer. If I had to buy a new larger chainsaw, I would purchase an Echo. I've worked on all three brands. Echo in my opinion performs better with less maintenance.

Bought the Husky last year for about 150 Euros. Very pleased with it. Just use it for cutting medium sized trees for fire wood.

I've had my 240 husky for 4 years. I've have no issues, just kept up with maintenance. Had to readjust the carb once. Other then that no issues. I recently bought an Echo cs490 for firewood and love it.

Not a chainsaw expert by any means, but I bought a Husqvarna 455 Rancher and it does everything I need with ease and no issues!

I was just cutting some firewood yesterday with ms170 and I'm reminded how these small saws and shorter blades are not so good for my bad back haha. The saw was great though.

Need to tune the husky. Ive ran those over stihl for years. I love echo also but not there saws so much. My Husky runs like a champ but its also tuned correctly.

Told my wife I wanted a stihl ms 251ce for Christmas. Sent her the link and everything. Woke up this morning to a ms 180. Bless her heart. She tried I think.

The no handed test without putting pressure on the saw is not fair as the design of the Husq's LowVib anti vibration handle is design to articulate. Without pressure it binds up like in your test.

this is the exact type of side by side comparison I want to see.

I came here to find out about the Echo. I already have the same Husky as in the video… and I hate it. Manual choke is a pain, always takes at least 3 or 4 pulls, hot or cold. And the amount of times I’ve bumped the kill switch off half way through a cut is annoying (it’s in a crappy spot). But worst of all on the Husky: the chain sprocket is on the inside clutch outside.Mine has just jumped a chain an destroyed the oil pump. Echo dealer is giving me a good enough trade in to make it worthwhile changing 👍

CS 310 run a few tanks of fuel and tune carb then you have the best saw for the money

My suggestion to most people.. if you're going to buy an Echo spend 300 dollars and get the CS 400. Its still a very light chainsaw. I personally wouldnt want to go any smaller than about 40 cc and the saws featured here are around 30 cc.. very small.
