U2 were a quite majestic post punk band. Bass, guitar and drums to a tee.

Its like a back to the future moment.

Your not ready for this but your kids are going to love it.

This is my favorite U2 song. “Call out your name, call out in pain, call out in shame.” Was a heavy song for my adolescence. The Edges guitar screams, a sonic archetype for melancholy. I see the joy division in this

Lord there's nothing better than youth. It's a shame the current generation doesn't embrace it; they'll regret it for sure.

This crowd had no idea who was up on that stage in front of them. OMG Bono is so pure

I wonder what it's like, to play a track with such intensity, to an audience as chilled as that? It can't be easy, surely?!

"We thought that we had the answers. It was the questions we had wrong." My favorite line in my favorite U2 song 🎵 ❤️

They were really on fire back then. Post punk geniuses. I've listened to Boy/October/War countless times since the 80's and they never cease to impress me. The songwriting and execution during this phase was just brilliant. Thank you for this video I love it.

Strepitosi. Amo questa canzone. E se possibile in questa versione live e’ ancora piu bella. The Edge gia’ allora da ragazzino sapeva suonare con un feeling tempo suono e gusto come nessun altro dei suoi tempi.
Grandissimi U2❤

What a Boring crowd!! Sitting there like bumps on logs, unbelievable!! I love this song so much, I can’t sit still to this brilliant performance, no way!!!! Absolutely mesmerizing and magical. That amazing guitar, Bono’s passionate voice, the drums, takes me to another stratosphere. Wish I could have seen them then, been a fan since I first heard Boy in 1980. Love this song so much, this melody is so addictive…❤️

My 2nd favorite song of all time. When I first heard this song on Under a Blood Red Sky I got goosebumps bumps and I still do. I can't get enough of this sing. My No. 1 favorite song of all time is New Years Day. All my top 10 favorite songs of all time are from U2.

What's really ironic about this song and its meaning is when life imitates art. In this song, Bono is looking for something outside his bubble. He was inspired to write the lyric after watching an atmospheric performance by the rockabilly/punk band The Cramps. "This was the peak of Goth and the gig was filled with candles, " he recalled in the book "U2" by U2. "Voodoo was the order of the day, there was the atmosphere of Black Mass, and I was thinking it was the night of the tragically hip. There was a lostness in the looks on their faces. It was that sepulchral make-up, white face, dark eyes, stuff my mates in the Virgin Prunes were up to their painted eyebrows in. But it felt like the end of the world. To a very young boy, 19 years old, from the suburbs of Dublin, it seemed there was no life here at all. There might have been more humor than I was capable of spotting at the time." - Bono Vox
