I believe this song was made with the intent to illustrate depression. It is so real to what we feel. It is sad and constant. Almost repetitive. We feel ordinary just like the video shows and sometimes we have to dance with our own personal demons in order to deal with our issues.

This song touches me so deeply. At the start it's like she's lost in some kind of trauma, and as the song progresses she has a sharp brush with the reality she tried to deny.

For me the song tells about finding some sort of dignity in a unhealthy relationship or behaviour you are drawn back into over and over again.
It becomes more tempting the farther you get away but you manage to keep enough distance not to be consumed by it.

It also tells how nice it feels to be at home wearing nothing but undies and socks.

Almost five years... and once again I find myself watching this video, this specifically. Do you know what is the best thing about sever? Beautiful music? Beautiful image? Being the first in the KIN serie? Yes, that's all very very well, but what I like the most is to see it as the end of the story, and the beginning at the same time.
Just watch Rascal and Kill, and then look at this video again, pay attention to details...
The dirty socks, the wet hair, the boxes (representing sanity), the expression in the face of the woman when she sees (sees again) the monster (representative of the madness). The forest behind her (in her past/memory) but the buildings (the reality) occupying that place when viewed from another perspective...
Is a cycle, a vicious circle, a story that repeats itself over and over again because facing reality leads to depression, and escape depression leads to madness.
This is the vicious circle of a woman who can not face the pain of lost and embraces (and escape) madness again and again and again and again...
Such an amazing job, I love KIN. With all my heart I love KIN. Thank you for such a beautiful gift.

This song is so haunting but I love music like this and artists like CoCoRosie whose lyrics are so poignant and evocative. I actually had my most lucid night terror after I heard this song and went to bed, and it was almost completely a re-enactment of this music video. I haven't had a video leave that strong of an impression since aphex twins - come to daddy. so i'm excited to see more. I see a lot of comments saying how hypnotizing her voice is, and I would agree. she is a siren.
