It's sad that Jaguar used to be a status symbol.
Hell, in 1954 it was a Jag XK120 that inspired the first Corvette in the US.
Over the years, it managed to position itself in a very specific market - the premium sports grand tourer, along with the Maserati Granturismo - one level above BMW and Mercedes, but one level below the supercars.
Recently, however, BMW and Mercedes expanded their lineup and took over this market gap, leaving Jags behind.
Jaguar also had the chance of getting into the hypercar market with the CX75, but they blew it.
The brand surely has a rich history and great pedigree. But so did Lucasfilm and look where they are now, after getting woke.

What will also destroy Jaguar will be the loss of dealers. The gap of available cars, so many unsold, if going upmarket into a tight market, their traditional unreliability, the costs of rebranding dealerships will chase all but a few out.

I think that the CEO of Jaguar wants to see if the Bud Light phenomena will happen to Jag, like it did with Harley, John Deere, Tractor Supply just to a few that went Woke then went Broke. You have to keep your eye on the ball, and that means satisfying your customer base not some weird and wacky cult.
Not having graduated in business, I guess I just don't understand the basic principles of marketing. Don't go after your customer base, try to swing some support from a group that doesn't even know that you exist, and are not buyers of your or any of your competitors brands.

Very smart to ask your old clientele to go to hell. to bet on a clientele that has a total lack of interest in cars or even interest in getting a driver's license. Without the loyalty of the old clientele to Jaguar, despite poor quality, the brand would have been gone for decades.

It's like watching a clip of some idiot climbing a skyscraper and falling to his death. You think you can only blame yourself!
