*Yeah no this dude was in a coma for a lot longer than 7 months.*

I had severe pneumonia last Spring.

When I went into the ER that evening in March, my state had just announced it's 1st case of Covid. The US death total was under 100. Italy had the worst stats in the world and they didn't have enough ventilators so they were talking about triage and how they would decide who to use resources for and who to just provide comfort measures for.

While I was at the ER, I went into respiratory failure and had to be intubated. I was life flighted from my small town hospital to the city hospital three hours away where I was kept sedated and on the ventilator for almost four weeks. I was in ICU for another week. By the time I was transferred to the cardiac floor (the pneumonia did a number on my heart) New York was an epicenter of the pandemic and the US was well on its way to 100, 000 deaths. Quarantine and Stay at Home orders were in full effect.

All of that was enough of a shock, I can't imagine being in a coma and waking up to everything that has gone on since January.
