* The Western Cape High Court has dismissed suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's urgent application to be allowed to go back to work after her suspension by President Cyril Ramaphosa was declared invalid.

* Transnet and striking unions will meet again today to discuss new proposals to end the wage strike. Transnet has tabled a revised offer of between four-point-two-five and five-per cent while the workers are demanding 12 per cent.

* Twenty suspected illegal miners are expected to appear in the Stilfontein Magistrate's Court in the North West today. Police say they were found with fifteen AK47s, six hunting rifles, two shotguns, over six thousand rounds of ammunition and an undisclosed amount of money.
