I feel strange, because the fears that I have are not only very conceptual but I also am okay with facing them. Like, I am scared of dark waters, where all of those strange sea creatures live, and yet, those creatures fascinate me. I am also scared of war, but mainly because I don't like the idea of getting drafted and would rather go to jail.

Meanwhile I'd be in there defining the difference between a fear and a phobia haha. Phobia is not just a irrational fear, it is specifically a fear that has NO basis for being. So if there is a history to why you have a fear, it can still be irrational, but that means it is not a phobia.

For me, it's Acrophobia, and what I just call Spiderphobia because I have never bee afraid of Scorpions or Ticks, which are arachnids. Just most spooders. And my assumption is I've had both since birth specifically because of it being primal fear. Certain phobias are primal fears, being from effectively our paleolithic ancestry playing out in our DNA.
