🧵 MY FAVORITE ROPE:

Macrame String:
- Most commonly referred to as single twisted string or single stranded
- Softer and more supple than rope.
- Great for wall hangings and an overall bohemian look.
- Ends can be brushed for fluffy fringe or tassels!

Macrame Rope:
- Most commonly referred to as 3-PLY or 4-PLY.
- Is more structured and textured than string.
- Great for plant hangers and textured wall hangings.
- Can be untwisted for wavy ends!

Macrame Cord:
- Multiple strands of string that are tightly braided/woven together.
- Most commonly referred to as braided cord or sash cord.
- A very strong and structured material
- Great for all weight bearing projects and structured wall hangings.
- Ends are very hard to unravel!

Thank you. Very informative. I didn’t know that the rope actually came that big.

I wish I had seen this before buying a 3 mm for a plant hanger. It's okay, but the 4 or 5 would have been better. I'll know next time! LOL
