When you combine the great voices of Rial & Jaroussky to play music of great composers as Monteverdi, the result is a masterpiece.

It's amazing how much a little bit of percussion makes a piece like this just come to life....

Probably the the greatest ever singing partnership on the contemporary renaissance and baroque scene. Really spectacular

Beautiful, light, loose, mellow, sublime, so simple and spontaneous! Nuria Rial and Philippe Jarouski two timbres as clear as water that merge perfectly and make you feel the beautiful side of life. ... I listenig and almost taste the nature  freshness ...  Birds and a lost beautiful and pulsating nature!

Yes is "La primavera" (The Spring) of Sandro Botticelli (Florence 1445- 1510). The lyric is inspired to a sonetto of the great italian poet Francesco Petrarca (Arezzo 1304- Arquà 1374). The music is, obviously of Claudio Monteverdi, "il divino" (Cremona 1567- Venezia 1643). Well, sublime italian art. I am proud of being italian

First of all a beautiful performance. Hearing this after many years I was reminded of the absolutely gorgeous moment between 6:10 and 6:11 when first Monteverdi sets up a cadence in g minor then extends that to do the same in the home key of F major. The cross relations are so palpable. I still have the dame reaction after 30 years.

La música de Monteverdi es siempre bella y sorprendente. Hay que seguir el significado de las palabras y las modulaciones de la música: palabras y música forman una unidad que quizás nadie volvió a repetir. ¡Que viva Monteverdi!

The layering, the rhythm and continuum of the instruments and voices interlock in a magnificent and very modern masterpiece … I can listen to this piece over and over again and it still completely blows me away! Wow!
