Python is finally updating OpenSSL to version 3! I don't need to compile python myself anymore...

it’s weird that it’s gone from Prime reacts to Prime News, but hey who doesn’t like to pivot?! Still a fan of what you do.

It's actually quite validating that you've compared the two. For the past 6 years, I've pretty much done nothing but Node/Javascript. Yeah sure I've played around with other languages, but now I'm once again reminded that coding can be fun with Python.

Linux distros, js frameworks and python implementations will never stop being created.

The point of Mojo isn’t that it does loops faster than python. Almost all respectable languages do. The point is the seamless integration with already existing python code. Go and Rust obviously have faster loops than Python, but you can’t be nearly as productive if your regular workflows involve packages like pandas, numpy, PyTorch…etc. These other languages can have equivalents, but they are much less used and likely not as advanced. Mojo allows for these popular packages to be used as is while also having all the features and performance of a modern language. Also, python users, by and large, don’t write C or Cython. Having Mojo give pythonistas a familiar syntax while staying in the same env to write more performant code, is a big win and a solid use case.

If Rust 2 needs to happen it should happen sooner rather then later so that less code is affected overall.

Python > JavaScript unless you need to do stuff in a browser or build something you should have built in Go.

Poetry is a lovely package manager for Python.

Yes! Python is useful because it is humbly flexible. It accepts your solutions to your own use cases and learns from them rather than berating you for breaking the rules.

At least PIP never break your app but upgrade minor version of npm does for some reason.

Django is a beast. It’s single-handedly the reason i stopped using node and moved to python-based backend.

The thing will probably like about Mojo is that you can compile it to an executable binary

re requirements: working in an enterprise environment where the defaulting to HOME is a major problem for the average python user.... I really hope that where and how the dependencies are handled can be obviously and simply configured. Too much of Python and the Python world is implicitly managed and it is a nightmare in enterprise environments.

Pydantic goes all in on Python type annotations. It very nearly makes Python feel like it has an explicit type system. Typer uses Pydantic to make CLI tools *so* easy to write (and read).

I'm not so sure about inline requirement specification. I like the idea but there'll end up being five new incompatible tools to manage it. Project dependency management is one thing Python cannot seem to settle on.

Python is fantastic, wish it was a bit faster.
