California is such an awesome state with a crazy amount of natural beauty that you can see all over the vast landscape. Some of the best attractions only happen once a year or every few years though and in this video, I wanted to share four of my favorites that I have captured. Let me know what I left off in the comments so that I can explore more beautiful places in California.

In this list:
- Yosemite's Firefall
- The super bloom
- Red tide
- Snow in the desert

The diversity and beauty of California's natural world is truly incredible. Thanks so much for capturing some of them and thanks equally for all your travels which are most appreciated during these difficult times.

Last year’s poppy bloom was legendary!! Literally the best we’ve seen in 7 years, great to see it make the list!🌼

Yes. I agree. Those are amazing natural wonders to see. The frazil ice in Yosemite is to me an amazing thing to see. The monarch refuge when there are a million monarchs clustering on trees and flooring everywhere in places like Pismo/ Grover beach is magical and usually at their peak around thanksgiving every year. Also watching the birth of hundreds of elephant seals at our piedras Blancas beach in San Simeon is incredible. Usually only once a year in late December, early January. Not something the camera might find beautiful but it’s stunning to see with your own eyes. Very moving

Quite the well compiled list of transient wonders that depend on many conditions to fall in place!
1. Fire Fall in Yosemite (Feb)
2. Super Bloom (spring eg. Antelope Valley/Carizzo Plain)
3. Red Tide (early spring/late summer)
4. Desert Snow (ex. Joshua Tree NP)
Thanks for the vid!
Another addition to consider: Migrating gray or humpback whales off the coast - seasons vary depending on whale species.
