Syros, Greece - A tour of Ermoupoli, Ano Syros and beyond

Показать описание
Join me on my short tour around Ermopouli, the capital of Syros Island in Greece.
Syros is the administrative capital of the Cyclades Islands & due to its Italian heritage, the architecture is very different, looking more at home in Venice than a Greek island. The main port town (Ermoupoli) is flanked by two hills, each topped by a church. One is Catholic, and one is Orthodox to reflect the beliefs of the island.
As you can see, Syros is stunning! We start with a walk up to the top of Ano Syros for sunset, so be prepared for steps…& lots of them! Then head to Astoria beach to cool off…before being flooded out by a passing ferry!
Due to its importance, Syros is more functional than a tourist island which makes a refreshing change compared to the bigger & more popular islands in the Cyclades.
