James wanted an unknown gf because he realised that he didn't want to be overshadowed. Nadz was and is, obviously very indemand in everything, aside from winning acting awards here and there.

Even in Lizas contract signing with Careless, instead of sitting her in the middle, it was him. He has a diva complex. I'm sure he enjoys being cheered for and invited more instead of the current gf.
