Dakine Super Tune Kit Overview - What's Inside, Plus Recommended Additions

We review all of the contents of the Dakine Super Tune kit, talk about the uses for each piece, and show you some of the things we recommend adding to this kit in order to boost its capabilities and usefulness.

The Dakine Super Tune is one of the most popular "complete" consumer-grade tune kits on the market, and it already contains a lot of quality pieces. We do recommend upgrading a couple of the tools, however, and the generous extra space in the bag allows for the addition of a few key things to really take this kit to the next level and get the most out of it.

Enjoy!

Super helpful and informative. Applies to snowboard tuning too. I appreciate the walkthrough of all the tools—and what to avoid.

So basically:
Don't get the kit, buy the things you need separately

wow, this was an extremely helpful and enlightening video for someone trying to figure out what to buy for start my own tuning kit (slash whether to buy prebuilt kits). Thank you!

To sum it up, don't buy the kit unless you really need the bag ^^

Great video, thank you! Would love to see a snowboard wax/tune tutorial video if you have one?

Really helpful to understanding my kit. I have a question and you may shake your computer screen: I used the sharpener in the green handle to file out some big burrs. North east I had a ton. Did I just ruin my edges? They feel smooth now

Thanks you for the Video, it was very helpful. So to understand, the only parts from the original kit that you use are the wax iron and the bag itself, everything else you bought separately?

So to sum up, the kit is full of crappy components but the bag is nice?

I use butcher knife on my board and it works wonderfully

So in summary:
- The iron can't regulate temperature
- The wax block is too small
- The gummy stone is too hard
- The bastard file is a trap
- The brass brush is too small for base brushing
- The plastic and metal scrapers are fine
- The edging tool is wussy
- The scourer is kinda ok
- The bag is well organised and big.

So, the point was not to buy a kit? Ok, I get it. Thanks

So the iron is mediocre, there's not enough wax and it's kinda crap anyway, there's a file you will never ever use, and a brush to clean it, which you will also never use. The edging tool is shit. The stone is okay but nothing great. 1 of the two scraping tools is useful the other does more harm than good. Why on earth would anyone buy this kit?

Oh my ! 😕? The big file. "Bastard file" is used to sharpen and keep your scrapper in good clean working order. Also to use on repairs, for both the board and edge repair. You use the tool that holds it at a 90 degree for your scrapper. You don't normally put your edge at that angle, do you? (Well you can. But...). That's why the edge tool is not made at that angle. Come on kid. You even said "SOME SORT OF FILE" WHEN YOU WHERE TALKING ABOUT THE PLASTIC SCRAPER. Funny guy?
