Fun fact it was actually Geoffrey Rush (Barbossa) who got Orlando the role of Will Turner. Both Geoffrey Rush and Orlando were starring in the same film Ned Kelly together with Heath Ledger during the time that Heath was offered the role and turned it down. But Geoffrey had a copy of the pirates script on set and leant his script to Orlando and suggested he consider the role. So if it wasn’t for Captain Barbossa, Will Turner wouldn’t be Orlando Bloom.
