Congressman Hurd, the Republican party definitely did NOT "move swiftly in this particular case". Had the Republicans moved quickly in dealing with Steven King, he would have been censured years ago. The Republicans moved now because the 2018 elections demonstrated clearly that the people of the United States would not put up with this kind of behavior. It therefore seems more difficult to run for re-election in 2020.
