With so much going on down here in the United States, and the Maui fire, many have forgotten that Canada has been on fire (in different places) for months now. This news from the fire in BC last night is heartbreaking. To hear so many structures were destroyed, but yet no one has died is absolutely amazing and just shows the professionalism of those fighting these fires, and the emergency response to save people - and property when able.

Thoughts and prayers to all those who are helping fight these fires. Knowing you have family in the area is so dam scary but being in constant contact helps so much. Just like us Aussies.. you guys will pull thru and rebuild.. but for now.. please stay safe everyone... and listen to all warnings.

😢This is insanely off as to why we as Canadians cannot get these fires under control, I do understand that the areas need rain, but by the time these fires are put out, the stretch of beauty in these lands will be destroyed ever. Now I wish snow was coming to out these fires. Dear Lord end it..🙏

My heart goes out to every person who will suffer from this fire, it is truly sad and heartbreaking. I would like to ask a question on behalf of all those who care, is there anything being done to help the animals fleeing the fires? every life matters....

Every year at this time its 🔥 season. having said that my question is this. Does the government wait until these fires have started and become OUT OF CONTROL before there is a response? Shouldn’t water bombers be on stand by the minute a fire has started?

I’ve lived here in Kelowna bc for 30+ years and never in my live witness this lack of air support. I get that there are other big fires like in areas like yellow knife. But to have the biggest water bomber be the same one for as long as I can remember is unacceptable. This fleet should be ever expanding and growing like our population. Instead witnessed such a lack of urgency. these guys just don’t want to make it seem like they did f all until it was so out of control there was not stopping it.

Well we got to see what emergency responders are great at... Patting themselves on the back and theirs friends at the same time... Not enough is being done! Period! Every few years we are constantly retraining and re - educating the same groups about how to do their job! This is un-acceptable! Grand standing while people suffer is the greatest indignity of all. Why not do the preventative work? Is that so much to ask for? Half of the speakers are talking though their hats ( they have Zero idea). It make me sick just how incompetent BC has become in spite of the fact that this same scenario is repeated every year. Different place in BC same result! Pathetic!
