G1 Retro Reviews - Atlantis, Arise!

In today's G1 Retro Review, we take a look at one of the original Transformers series episodes that I've been dreading, "Atlantis, Arise!" In this episode, the Decepticons team up a group of gross fish people, and they try to take over Washington DC!

2:51/2:57 Well here are 3 things I'm going to say about them.
1. They seem somewhat inspired by H.G. Lovecraft's Cthulhu (Like in the Heart's of Steel: Infestation 2 Comics).
2. To paraphrase Moth Light Media's video on Sirenian evolution: "Water is a better conductor than air and so aquatic animals lose warmth to their surroundings more easily than land animals." This makes them more like Manatees rather than something that resembles Ariel or Mermaid character performers (HaleyMermaid & Abby Hazlet are two good examples I've heard of).
3. I've seen some DeviantArt regarding speculative hominid apes if they underwent the Aquatic Ape Hypothesis. Although I seem to forgot which one I saw.

This Episode aired as a 2 parter here when i was a kid it stopped as the Washington Monument was starting to fall . The Battle was longer after they fixed the Monument and more talking between Wheeljack & Atlantean and also Starscream had more lines talking to Rumble & Frenzy

I think you dislike the designs of the Atlanteans only because you are looking at them in the context of Transformers, and comparing them to the bots.

I watch a lot of She-ra, so I really like strange humanoid creatures in trunks.

One thing i really like is when the dinobots rampage in the Atlantis just beacuse its cool seeing them destroying things

Spike in nothing but a speedo does things to me. Wish he stripped down in more episodes.

8:15 I also thought that he probably doesn't want to screw up any form of human history (not that he actually cares about it though).

I always liked the episode despite the Atlantean King's voice and Spike in speedos (Spike in general to be fair).

Buzzsaw was deliberately underused in the cartoon. This was done because he was sold packaged with Soundwave while the other cassettes were sold separately.
Why do think Atlantis existing in Marvel and DC is okay, but is odd in Transformers.
