A pregnant woman died on Friday at the Midnapore Medical College and Hospital in Paschim Medinipur, leading to protests from the family members who raised serious concerns about the quality of medical supplies. The woman, Mamni Das, had been admitted to the maternity ward earlier this week and her condition deteriorated after she and four other pregnant women were allegedly administered “defective” saline, sources said citing the family members.
