I Shall Not Want from FORTUNATE FALL

I Shall Not Want by Audrey Assad
from the 2013 release Fortunate Fall.

Lyrics:
From the love of my own comfort
From the fear of having nothing
From a life of worldly passions
Deliver me O God

From the need to be understood
From the need to be accepted
From the fear of being lonely
Deliver me O God
Deliver me O God

And I shall not want, I shall not want
when I taste Your goodness I shall not want
when I taste Your goodness I shall not want

From the fear of serving others
From the fear of death or trial
From the fear of humility
Deliver me O God
Deliver me O God

So sad she has walked away from the Lord. A great talent! Sadly the world will most definitely leave her wanting. The Lord will restore her and become her Shepherd if she calls on him again. Thank God that he always receives us back when we willingly return to him.

Breaks my heart to see this talent go to waste. You’ve produced beautiful work. It saddened me to now see where you stand and who you serve in these recent years. I pray you turn back to the Lord and use your talent for good. Your voice is beautiful and was given to you to praise

In my personal opinion, this song is up there with Oceans and Revelation Song for Christian songs that are so beautiful they just never get old :D

I use this to pray... a lot. Audrey, thank you for this absolutely gorgeous song to Our Savior. You shall not want. We shall not want. Amen.

Wow, never have I felt so comforted by a song. This song came at the very moment when I''ve been holding on to so much fear, pain, and grief in my heart. But I was reminded where my hope and trust should lie. Lord deliver me! Thank you for this!

What a great way to ask the Lord to cleanse us of our iniquities. He is the great Deliverer and you can sincerely pray these words along with Audrey and know that when you “taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8).

I listen to this song every Saturday as I pray for the next day of worship. As a pastor, it helps me get my eyes where they need to be . Thank you Audrey.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. It’s so true and honest and touching. Thank you for writing and recording it. It’s truly glorifying to God.

This blew me away.  I feel as if I've just gone to church.  Never had heard Audrey sing before, but I am a convert.  Also, a convert to Catholicism.

I have been listening to this song for the past several months.  My usual homeplace in Christian worship is probably not in the same neighborhood as Audrey's, but this song is so plaintive, so honest, so ardently trusting, so gently hopeful.  Very psalm-like, and a psalm in its own right.  Right now, in March, 2014, in the heart of Lent, it is a deep blessing.  So are you, Audrey Assad!
