The biggest new thing I learned from this video is that it's quicker to fly to Europe from America closer to the North pole than directly across the Atlantic.

I paid more attention to the animation than the actual information being given.

I'm a doctoral student in Human Resources Development, pursuing cognate study in OrgComm. This is an excellent resource to help distinguish the "org as container" vs. CCO approaches. Thank you!

I like that the visual universe in your teachings, AND THE fact that there isn't music bogging down my focus in the background. If I could rate your video I'd give it through the roof a 5 star perfect score. This is awesome, great material and work for real

Communication is organizational not because it happens with in organizations but rather because it coordinates the activities and interpretations of multiple people. Into an organized recognizable form and sustains or alters its form for subsequent collective action. To study organizational communication therefore is to study social processes that create the dominate structures of our society. I typed as I was listening so its a paraphrase...

I don't know if it's just me, but as a 23-year old in mid-2020 I think that the animation is very helpful

I am a student of communication in Kean University. Currently, I am taking my capstone course - senior seminar, in which one of the projects of the class is to have a presentation that can explain a organizational communication from a theoretical and scholarly point of view.
It was really nice to see how cool you made your explanation with the artistic format. Also, I am also studying the critical theory of communication in organizations from your colleague professor Stanley Deetz.

en contraire to the majority of comments: LOVED the animation. VERY clever to reflect the chaos, the perfect storm that is organisations, people, processes and communications. It all ensues within organisations. The animations supported the points you made brilliantly and spoke to my creative and strategic nouse. Very much mirrored the complexities that communications navigate. Absolute A*. Made so many notes before realising there's a video download! Going to watch it again. AMAZING. Thank you in 2020 :)

1. I think we all need to "rise above" the org's expectations whenever we face difficult tasks.

2. The reason why orgcom is still in the lower league is because: (1) the field is still new, and (2) it's a jack-of-all-trades field, at least for now. Here, we borrow alot of management, psych and marketing concepts.

3. I already talked to my chums. It's because they don't have an idea what orgcom is in the first place! I think we need have to push boundaries in advocating this glorious field!

Good information.. but the animation was distracting... after 5 minutes my skull hurt. Found that the material repeated itself and didn't get to the point.

Awesome video! Thank you so much for posting this.

A lot of people missed the point of the video completely. It's clear, at least to those who have taken college courses (not knocking on those who haven't), that this is an introductory video to the field and that subsequent instruction would explore the application of the view presented here. It's simply an intro video likely shown to students. Thrown up here on YouTube outside of that setting, it's understandable that people are confused by the "lack of a point" and repetition of ideas.
