The Best Stargazing Place on Earth

Exploring Chile's Atacama Desert, Sharon Rosenberg was amazed by its otherworldly beauty. This place was so special—it looked like Mars! They even filmed Mars movies here. But the real magic? The sky.

At night, Atacama's sky lit up like a giant light show. No wonder they sell loads of telescopes here—it's the best spot to see stars. Sharon plannned a stargazing trip, but with the full moon, it was a disappointing display at first.

Next morning however, up at 2 AM to visit the geysers, the moon had vanished. Looking up, Sharon saw a gazillion stars, more than ever before. It was like the whole Milky Way was waving hello. In that moment, she felt tiny in the vast universe, but super connected to it all. Atacama's sky—forever etched in her memory.
