What this subject is about, first of all, is introducing you to the underling conceptual and philosophical foundations of psychology

In Module 1 I'll talk to about how it is that psychologists approach the understanding of human behaviour and human nature.

In Module 2, we go deep on the structure and functions of the brain.So how does this wonderful machine produce the complex behaviours that we see in humans and other animals? How does the brain allow us to fly to the moon and beyond? How is it we're able to create computers and use them?

In the third and fourth module, we start to look at how it is that behaviour goes awry. 2So why does behaviour sometimes go wrong? In Module 3, I'll introduce you to psychopathology by having a brief look at its history.And then we'll talk about a model of stress and coping.Stress and maladaptive coping with stress is one of the sources of abnormal behaviours. So we'll have a close look at that. In Module 4, we'll be having a look at several common colds of psychopathology, so the anxiety disorders and the mood disorders.So we'll look at things like phobias, acute stress disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as things like major depression, and the bipolar disorders.
