PRAYER 2: Jabez prayed-- Enlarge My Coast!

One can not talk about the prayer of Jabez without looking at Jeremiah 33:3 - "God said we should call on him and he will answer us and show us the hidden secret!"

In the book of 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, this scripture talks about a man named Jabez, the story about Jabez was brief, in the sense that his mother named him Jabez, because she birth him in pain. Jabez was described as an honourable man who called on the God of Israel.
One of the key point of Jabez's prayer - was that he called upon the God of Israel and one of his first request was for God to enlarge his coast.
A coast can be likened to his business, his family as well as anything that would bring peace to a man.
I asked myself the question-- who in the scripture can one point to regarding an enlarged coast?
And immediately two people came to my heart. These are:

- Abraham: Father of Nations: God promised Abraham that he would make him a father of nations and I shall multiply thee Gen. 17:2 & 5.
- The wife of the sons of the prophet 2Kings 4:1-6. Filling the oil jars

The scripture said the Lord heard Jabez's prayer. We would cover the other parts of Jabez request in the upcoming message.
