Even with all their little quirk's and issues, still got to love these old Chevy trucks. I can't believe I'm calling a 90s model old.

The problem I had was the lights worked fine but randomly blew that fuse...and would continue to do so until you cycled the ignition! Then you could replace the fuse and everything would work again until the next bump and BAM blown fuse again...searched for 2 years for this problem and FINALLY YOUR VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I have the exact same issue, and this is the first video I've seen to possibly diagnose it. Thank you for sharing, I'll give it a try.

Thank you, same bad ground connection I had (horn and running-parking lights weren't working)...just passed my inspection now. Definitely not a good ground design if all our trucks are having the same issue. Mine was an 1989 Sierra...had that same ground terminal behind connector.

Mine is an 86' I've been doing a slow roll restoration on. This last couple days, I've been off for Christmas, and it's been 65° here in Tennessee. So I decided to pull the dash pad out, I've ordered a new one, in the process of that I discovered why my defrost was working to good, it's a duct work issue. So I went in on that. My instrument panel lights were only about 1/2 of them working. So I figured bulbs but when I pulled it out the bulbs were mostly good had a couple blown but not the main problem. Today in putting everything back to make it where I could drive around the farm some this week I find that I have, excluding dash, which is still in the back of the truck, all my lights work except tail lights, I've got head, brake, and turn signal lights, as I type this it's dawning on me I did not check to see if I had running lights. I was thinking maybe a ground somewhere. While my 86 is a little different it has a very similar looking box under the steering column I had no idea what it was. I'll check it in the morning... That was a good video dude. The trouble shooting run down there was money, very straightforward.... Edit: maybe this edit can be useful to someone as far as cross over info. This same ground wire was, as it turns out the issue with my 86'. To think I almost didn't watch your video when you said 91' because I thought that info on 73'-86' could be useful to me

Thanks! I hope this solves my issue! The parking lights fuse blows as soon as I push them on. I replaced the light switch and turn signal switch and still blows the fuse. Hopefully your video takes care of my trucks issue with the parking lights fuse blowing!

Thanks Man. I have a '92 K1500 and my dash lights have been out since I got it in July. Never thought much about it until last night when my wife and I were heading home from friends house and a dude pulled up along side of us and said we had no tail lights. I thought it was odd considering we had just gotten an inspection sticker. Funny because the guys at the shop were talking about the tail lights, but they passed it anyway and just a week ago they failed my 91 Caprice because the rear drivers window didn't work. Just me, but I'd think tail lights would be a little more important than a window not rolling down. Oh well.
Anyway, thank you for this video, I'll definitely check it out tomorrow.

This is helpful. '93 Chevy 1500 taillights went completely out yesterday. Then turn on switch started smoking, telling me it's that ground wire. Thanks for this...

Hey thanks bro, my truck 1992 Silverado did the exact same thing tonight & I was rushing through town to get home before I got pulled over for no lights, checking fuses to, was thinking switch to, but now I’m going to check the ground, I hate electrical man, a lil thing can turn on you man, & before you know it you have the hole dang dash pulled out trying to solve the problem, so I just wanted to say thanks for the heads up, I kind of hate to work on things in the dark, I have lights & stuff, but I’ll do it in the morning, but hey thanks again, pretty sure it’s the same thing, ok bro later & thanks.
