This song is one of those that grows on you over time. Atbthe beginning i didnt enjoy it but now I absolutely love it as I rehearsed it multiple times

Without a doubt in my mind the President's Own is THE best wind band in the world, and this proves it

Magnificent...Wagner himself would have approved. The entire last section of the recording (at the last key change) is one big, long crescendo - just like it's supposed to be. The dynamics are so well-managed that they always leave a little bit left in the tank to get to one more level of intensity - just when you think there can't BE another one.

Most bands never get Elsa to the threshold at the end. Making sounds of chop relief during the music is an issue. Beautiful work.

I remember playing this in high school my junior or senior year and played the piccolo on it. First time playing it was when we got together with other bands from the area of my state and played together. When we were put together with one other band, we were sitting next to each respective chair placement.
