Tom Dumoulin - The Perfect Time Trial

It's got to be perfect. There's no room for mistakes, no place for a lapse of concentration. Everything has to remain perfectly in place for 13.8 kilometres. Because at the finish line a yellow prize awaits.

The opening time trial of the 2015 Tour de France has been a target for Tom Dumoulin since it was announced that this year's Grand Départ would take place in Utrecht, in Tom's home country of the Netherlands.

Giant-Alpecin's TT specialist has shown amazing form in the last couple of months and starts as one of the home favourites for the Tour de France opening time trial, a 13.8km lung-bursting effort around the streets of Utrecht.

In this video the Dutchman speaks about avoiding mistakes, ignoring pain and the other near-insurmountable difficulties that lie in winning the short time trial, and thereby achieving every cyclist's dream, winning a yellow jersey in the Tour de France.
