Well folks, This is as close as we can come to ever seeing Muhammad Ali at his peak in his prime. Honestly. Could you imagine a better fighter then what he displayed here. Ok, now tell me, could a Larry Holmes handle this Ali ? Could a Joe Frazier handle this Ali or even the awkwardness of a Ken Norton? Ali fought all those guys after a 3 1/2 year layoff. And later toward the end of 74-75 he was not only fighting against his opponents, he was fighting the early but quickly advancing stages of Parkinson’s disease. Truly the greatest fighter of all time ! RIP champ !

What a greatest man and a greatest performance.Fortunatey Dempsey, Louis and Marciano were still alive at that time and watching this fight.I think at the back of their minds the did nod their heads in approval that was really the greatest.None of the mentioned three ever came closed to display such class let alone the perfomance. If they still thought little of Ali, its simple that jealous got better of their systems.

Ali's best performance in my opinion. Knockout punch landed while he was moving backwards

Isn't Cleveland Williams the guy that had a foot of his innards removed prior this fight?

I was 8 yrs old. Really had my hopes up Big Cat would put the other dude on his back. As you saw, it wound up the other way around.😂

When I got older, my dislike for Clay eased somewhat, and I even found myself liking him a little, and laughing at his humorous side. I realized that he truly was a great boxer and that his "mouth", along with his boxing prowess, did more for the popularity of professional boxing than perhaps anything before. At the time of his conversion to islam, I was to young to understand what he was doing or what that was all about.
I followed his career the rest of the way, and even bet $20.00 that George Foreman would defeat him
in 1974 ($20.00 was a lot for an 18 yr old schoolboy in '74). Well, I was wrong again about him.

My BIGGEST regret about him was that later in his life that he didn't renounce the muslims and their so-called "religion", and take back his Christian name, and be the TRUE American Hero that everyone thinks he is.
