The new Ram ProMaster EV lacks two things that traditional delivery vans have: the thrum of an internal combustion engine and the tailpipe emissions that go with it. The ProMaster EV is the all-electric version of the hulking, gas-powered Ram ProMaster van, and it's expected to be virtually identical to the Fiat E-Ducato that's already on sale in Europe. (Parent company Stellantis owns both the Ram and Fiat brands.) E-Ducatos are juiced by either a standard 47.0-kWh battery or optional 79.0 kWh pack, and we expect a range of about 125 miles from the smaller battery—roughly the same that Ford's E-Transit delivers. The ProMaster EV's payload should also be similar to the Fiat's claimed 4189 pounds of hauling capability, but so far Ram hasn't released any official specs. The ProMaster EV is still many months away from its on-sale date, so our speculation could change as we learn more about what it will offer. When it does finally go on sale it will join a small but growing number of electric commercial vans, including the Ford as well as the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter.

Watching this video with interest as we recently purchased a new Travato on a Ram 3500 Promaster chassis. I don't think EV's are ready for prime time in the RV market yet due to their limitations in range and in cold weather. I would imagine the RV campsites would have a major electric surcharge or ban if everyone tried to plug in overnight and bring down the grid.
