I'm on iOS 17.6.1 original, I can confirm that I'm having the same issue as you

To clarify: it happens on every system, but only if you write simple (non locale specific) quotes. You can hold the quote symbol on the keyboard, it's on the right, two strictly vertical strokes, without tilt.

Right now, millions of iPhones are crashing as people purposely type "": T and the T is for Tim Cook who clearly has deprioritized trivial matters like iOS stability. The iOS 18 betas are still an unstable mess.

Speaking of beta updates, I no longer have dark icons that automatically go dark. I have to manually go to customize and change it back to automatically change the icons to dark when dark mode automatically turns on

for me no crash at all. when i do in app library, nothing happens, it just says "no result", but in spotlight, the spotlight-app or whatever it is just restarts. so it disappears and reappears. no crash. same behavior on my ipad. both are on iOS 18.1 Beta 2.
