I love the budget focus of this channel. So many mtb you tubers seem to have a bottomless pit of cash to spend on their bikes.

Just did the first full rebuild on RS Super Delixe Ultimate and it took me 4 hours but one hour alone was taken up by installing a spherical bearing instead of the regular bushings. Also installed a hotdog piston. I have yet to test it out on the trails but I think it turned out good. Very satisfying!

Nice! I did something very similar and I’ve also been calling it a VRX+! Haha! I bought a 2020 Vitus Mythique last summer and because of availability (and budget) I went with the VR. The first thing I did was add a OneUp Dropper post. Next I went after the suspension. The X-Fusion stuff is ok but it’s definitely budget grade. I saved up and put a new 150mm Z2 on it and a used 140mm Rockshox Monarch RT, that I also had to rebuild. I upgraded the front rotor to a 203 a month or so ago and soon I’ll replace the brakes themselves. For now though, this thing rides like a dream!

I like that you mentioned your rebuild time this video. Your videos help me think that I can work on my own stuff, when the time comes.

Just so you know mate, crows foot on torque wrenches need to be perpindicular to the handle not inline for accurate tightening. This is because torque is a force X distance and having the crows foot in any other orientation adds distance effectively adding torque.

Great vid, I like the used market, some places don’t have a good used market I understand that but if you do it’s the best way to get high quality top notch parts for budget less quality new parts

Just ordered this shock as an upgrade to my standard Monarch, which.... I've never serviced! I did have a bike shop service it once, like 3 or 4 years ago. It definitely needs it. I need to be sure to do these things in the winter, because right now all I wanna do is ride!

I know this is an old post but, if you use Crow's feet with a torque wrench you have to put it at 90° to the torque wrench. Otherwise, you are adding leverage and increasing the amount of torque compared to what the torque wrench is reading.

Really nice job at doing the service by yourself!

Ps, the torque for the sealhead is not 40Nm, it's 28Nm.

Well done! I LOVE your content and your style. I hope you continue to do this. Most other channels have so much editing, memes, random jokes or whatever that don't fit in. Your videos are a work of art. Right down to the point, well presented, videography is great, everything you say is on topic. Yet, you still have a ton of personality/character coming through. Really amazing stuff, and I hope your subscriber heads skyward. Oh, and I'd love to see that video testing the shock. By the way, out of curiosity, what's the heatsink looking thing in your bottle cage??

Hey mate nice video, best way to learn is defs just pulling it apart ! Just so you know with a torque wrench if your using a crows foot or extension you have to have it at a 90 degree angle not straight or else it changes the length thereby the torque will be wrong.. in your case of having it straight the torque will be higher than the dial indicates..

I like your attitude at trying to do things yourself. My Goal is to watch all your videos. I saw a guy use baby oil for his Hydraulic brakes and he ran it for 1 year like that.

Crows feet also have a torque multiplier if not used at 90 degrees so a NM setting on the wrench equates to a higher value because of the mechanical advantage of the crows foot.

In Canada 🇨🇦. O rings in metric sizes are 20 bucks and you get a lot of sizes. Imperial sizes are available as well.
