Who ends up homeless when she finds an upgrade? The Man!

Gets worse than that. My wife's brother-in-law, paid for his wife's university education, bought 2 houses on his pay and covered all the bills for the past 18 years of marriage. She now out earns him and is looking at leaving him, claiming he is psychologically abusing her, because he wants her to stay home and look after him and more importantly their children. But she always chooses to go out with her girlfriends. I messed up and forgot to add, she wants to leave him because she doesn't need him. She out earns him!

I’m glad I have a woman in my life that I have to fight with for wanting to pay on our dates. It does not make me any less of a man if she pays for a meal once in a while, or her any less of a woman if I want to cook once in a while. Setting up statistical rules and laws in a relationship is what baffles me the most. A relationship is about understanding each other. Take it easy. Not everything has to be on paper. If you have to set up rules regarding basic understanding in your relationship, you’re doing it wrong.

Men carry majority of the weight in relationships, good women respect that and listen, bad women complain they should have more.

Gentlemen, woman can waste up so much of your time and money, it can be crippling. At 63 years of age I want to say this to young men. Never sleep with or date a woman you won't or can't marry. If you want a wife look for her. I'm not saying don't casually date, or have a friend with benefits. I'm saying if you're with a women. You better take a good hard look at her and be able to say either I could be married to her. Stay safe

Men, never enter a contract that rewards the woman for violating it.

When I asked my wife to marry me, I of course bought her an engagement ring but it ended there. Right from the start of our marriage, we’ve split all marital costs 50/50. Separate bank accounts, credit cards and car loans. All household debt is split 50/50 … groceries, mortgage, utilities, and anything our two kids need. Any home repairs are also split. We just booked a vacation. I paid for my half and she paid for hers. We’ve never ever had an argument about money

The world these people live in does my head in

The first vacation I went on with my husband we bought together? Lol

My dad and mum owned their own buisness, sure you can’t split it 50:50 like he’s trying to do here

But it’s absolutely 50/50 in their relationship.
They are a team.

None of these people seem to want a partnership out of a relationship.

If these are the partners you look for then these are the partners you’ll find. Seek love, not lust, and bask in the bosom of a wife, not a trophy.

Exactly! I’ve seen this scenario where both make the same amount (60k) yet all the financial aspect was on him. She was 33 and he found out she had a wild past and told her “why am I paying more for you than other men who had you at your best?”. Men should lead but look at women like potential stocks. Where is this risk?

Relationship should be 100/100 on both sides!! If you are not bringing 100% effort to the Relationship you will have problems.

It's about time they paid for themselves FOREVER just like we do!

My husband and I make the same amount, he pays for dates, fun items, groceries, and household bills, I take care of our daughters bills, our medical insurance, our medical bills, and our loan debt. I hold down health and long term finances, he holds down the house and short term finances.

Not always true!! Some of us are not looking for a man to pay for everything. Sure, those things he mentioned are chivalrous like paying for a date or engagement ring which symbolizes commitment. What about groceries? Bills? Medical bills? Car payment? Insurance? Vet bills? There's so much more you have to pay for that are "partner" things. If you want to treat each other that is different!! Life doesn't revolve around dates and engagement rings. You partner with each other to pay for life.

This is why I love my wife. We both paid for ourselves at dates, we split vacations down the middle and we even split the engagement/wedding rings down the middle. We each paid for our own car, we split the mortgage evenly, etc. etc. I know we're the exception but man does it feel good. 19 years together and still going strong.

Who's body is getting ruijed through pregnancy and childbirth, the woman. Who's career will be 3-5 years behind because of maternity leave. The woman. Who's career sufferers because a child is sick etc. the woman. Who's doing on average 25% more childcare and housework. The woman.
