It's a GAN model ( Generative adversarial Network) basically it has two components 1) Generator 2) Discriminator

The generator creates a fake photo while the job of the Discriminator is to tell whether the photo is fake or not . So the cycle continues until the Discriminator fails to discriminate.
So the final result looks very real.
