A 9 inch standard popsical is crazy big for flip tricks. Those egg shapes seem like they’re a better shape for tall people because they have the size for stability but the geometry for easy of movement

I have to say thank you so much for breaking this egg video down 😂 but for real you got me sold on an egg deck as I’ve been trying to decide for a bit now. This is the best video to help someone make the choice, keep up the awesome content

Now I'm more of a shaped board skater myself (I personally love the early 90s shapes and yes Welcome skateboards are a fave of mine!) But I'd argue these boards aren't really egg shaped at all. To me they seem more like a mid 90s football shape given how wider they are in the center than on the top or bottom (To me when I see the the actual shape of an egg, I see more of a tapered teardrop shape and given that, these 'egg' shape boards are more or less two eggs conjoined at the bottom to form a more or less glorified football shaped deck.) Either way, shaped decks breath new life into skating and offer loads of fun and challenge to the overall plain Popsicle!

Speaking of twin tails, I'm riding the Justin Henry 8.125" Quasi Mirror deck and loving it!

I feel the same way about my ZipLogger board. Haven't tried an egg-shaped board. Soon. Gr8 VLOG

Got one of the Franky Villani egg shaped and I was impressed. A lot of scoop tricks were way easier (doing switch fs heel on this board felt a lot better than other shapes I’ve skated). I’m riding it with the 5.8 hollow ventures instead of the 6.1 and it’s working great, might order another one that I seen on sell.

sweet video man, if i could give some advice at all, maybe frame you shots a little closer to your face, so you fill the frame, and film a bit more B Roll of the boards to cut between, so your audience is always presented completely with the subject of the audio!! love the work

I went from 8.5 popsicle to 9.5 symmetrical egg and I don’t think I’ll ever go back. I love my current setup so much.

14" wheelbase usually on a egg or shorter-meanwhile popsicles at the same width usually run 14.25- 14.5 the biggest difference

Just for funsies you should try the 10" twin pop by the same company as your eggs. I absolutely love it. Im sure all your flip tricks will suffer but it's so fun to have a boat like that under you. I skated shaped/eggs for quite a few years and wanted to get back to a popsicle but all the regular sizes felt boring. The 10" is so wide it kinda stops looking like a popsicle under your feet.

Just got few weeks ago 9 inch egg board. I like doing flip tricks a lot and I was positively surprised how well egg shape works. Btw, what is the difference between football shape and egg board? They look quite alike. Just wonder if there is any difference. Great video! 😎🤙

That popsicle is 33 inches long with a 14 inch wheelbase? Those are wild dimensions lol

Thanks for your insight. Are you liking the 9.4 egg better than the smaller one? Do you see yourself liking a sub 9" egg?

My claim to fame is that the shellraiser graphic was originally a pitch that I sent Fos that he actually used.

Im looking to get back into skating and definitely need a bigger board from the 7.75" i skated 15 years ago....Seems like I should get a shaped deck after watching this, but my stupid question is...Does is actually make you a worse skater because you are using these boards as cheat codes, or are they just ahead of the curve and you think many more people will ride the more shaped decks in the future? Skating has its waves and what place do you think the egg and other new shaped decks have in skateboarding?
