John Milford Rutter CBE 1945. An English composer, conductor, editor, arranger, and record producer, mainly of choral music.
On this video from John Rutter's recent album 'A Distant Land', 'The Prelude' to 'Suite Antique' for flute, harpsichord and strings.
Composed 1979 and came about as a result of a commission to write a concert piece for the same instrument combination as Bach's Fifth Brandenburg Concerto.
On this video:- To accompany the music images more to do with places in Nature's Realm, the gentle flowing rhythm providing a soothing backdrop to this pictorial glimpse of lush, peaceful, gently undulating and softly rippling countryside.
Another lovely work by John Rutter with a solace provided in 'Mother Nature', and an abiding hope for brighter days to come....
