All excellent stuff. Pool cues in my opinion are like golf clubs. If you have a smooth consistent stroke and or golf swing, there's little difference between equipment. I've shot some great pool on the road using a house stick. I still use the same Meucci cue with the original pro shaft I purchased about 30 years ago for 200 bucks. I recently hopped on the carbon fiber bandwagon getting a 500 dollar Meucci carbon shaft for my 30 year old 200 dollar cue. 😃 Back to my original point, buying expensive equipment be it pool or golf isn't going to improve your game.

Brian thank you SO Much for everything you do to help with all the info & tips to becoming a better pool player! I bought a 8' table 4 years ago cause I didn't really need a 9' one just because of how much & the level of players that would be using it, but I wanted to ask you what do you think about a Spencer Marston table, we love it & it's as level now as when they installed it!

Brian you do a great job of explaining and teaching. One thing I would like to understand more is the different shafts and elaborate on which ones typically will interchange. And sizes.

I made the change to carbon fiber playing shaft about 3 months ago . One thing I've recently noticed is that I'm playing a lot more center ball on shots . Ive been playing with low deflection cues for about 17 years now but I think it has more to do with the consistency of the shaft. I've always kind of adopted Ronnie O'Sullivan approach when it comes to deflection. That your almost always going to have a touch of accidental side spin so you're better just to use a little and account for it. But I guess the consistency has changed that a little in my game

I bought my carbon fiber about 15 years ago and still love it, I can't remember the brand but it was around $500 back then.

Great channel. Found you this weekend and have watched dozens of your vids. Question on phenolic tips. I bought a predator BK3. Am I supposed to do anything to the tip to condition it, or just put chalk on right out of the box? I believe I read to not scuff it up at all, just chalk; but wanted to verify.

Great insight on a ton of questions I had on equipment! Quick follow up on chalk. We have red Simonis 760 and unless I’m not looking in the right places I don’t see many red chalk options. I have Silver Cup and Master red chalk. Is Predator, Russian Magic, or Kamui available in red?

Hey Bryan - Appreciate the shout-out. I ended up getting the Predator Sport 2 and sprang for the Revo with the WVP. So far, loving the feel, the weight and don't even use a glove sometimes. I feel like I am more accurate on longer shots with it. I know the cue isn't supposed to make a big difference at my level. But maybe it is the confidence factor of having a great cue that comes into play. You want to do it justice. I'm using the Predator chalk and liking it; even though it is a little messy. Gonna try the Russian Magic at some point. Anyway, thanks for the advice and great videos!

Brian, I've been playing w a 11.75 shaft for about a year now. Took some getting used to. I'm considering going up to 12.25. Because, when ive tried a larger tip, I seem to be more accurate. I think I'm good enough w English to not have that effect my decision. Thoughts?

Interesting view on carbon fibre shafts. If you look at golf equipment carbon fibre shaft must have to 100 % taken over from steel when it comes to drivers and fairway woods! Iron clubs not yet but it is surely growing. Price? In the beginning more expensive, today not so much!

I have a mike massey breaking cue i won at a tournament once 20 years ago. I put a white diamond on it, 18 oz and breaks like a beast since day 1.

I'm just starting to get serious into pool I am still an intermediate player so I am staying close to my small town for tournaments (mostly barboxes) and going to work my way out from there. Do I want to be practicing on similar conditions to what I will play local tournaments on or try to get the best quality products for practicing on now?
