I find it really funny how the finale was basically the writers calling out their own lackluster writing. Being self-aware about your writing problems does not excuse those writing problems. Let's hope this means there's better writing Phase 5 onwards.

Love it or hate it, I think we can all agree it was just “odd” writing lol. I know she breaks the fourth wall like that in the comics, but having her RESOLVE the entire season conflict in that manner was really unearned. It’s like 101 of bad writing lol. She should of at least had to struggle or overcome some kind of challenge to succeed. Instead she complained her way to a happy ending. Super unsatisfying.

My problem is jen did not grow as a character at all. She basically made a pitch to Kevin to solve all her problems, while she stays the same. Also something seemed so wrong about her rewriting events to make daredevil be in her life longer. I get that it’s a 4th wall break but it’s still creepy…

The old ending was so bad that they made a new bad ending that makes fun of the old bad ending.

I'm thankful for this series because I always find it really hard to pick my least favourite of something. When ranking the MCU TV shows in my head, before this came out it was reluctantly The Falcon and the Winter Solider because I absolutely hated that last episode so darn much, but the rest of it really was quite enjoyable. Thankfully She-Hulk was the solution as it has stepped in to take the place for TFATWS. Thank you so much 👍

I think what sucks the most about the show is thinking of what it could’ve been, since it was 9 episodes long.

And then it turned out to be Sex and the City ft She-Hulk

I very much agree with a lot you said in this review. The people shaming others for not liking this show (for legitimate reasons) are just as bad as the people the show was making fun of. Tatiana Maslany did a good job for what she was given. I think she deserved better.

I agree with what was said about views of this series. There is a group of sexist people that think your stupid and invalid for liking the show and there is also a group that calls everyone sexist and misogynistic for not liking it, and both sides are equally ridiculous people are allowed to have their opinions about the show, you can like it or not that’s up to you.

Sean you were totally on point! Making fun of people who are genuinely criticizing the poor writing and Vfx doesn't make them clever!

Hey Sean!! You are one of my favorite film critics on the platform, and I consistently love your content. This was a fantastic review as usual. However, I would like to respectfully disagree with you on one thing. Intelligencia wasn’t meant to be a way to label anyone who did not enjoy this series. Instead, it was meant to play as a commentary on the very vocal and real group of people who are not a fan of this show, and phase 4 overall, because of the inclusion of women superheroes. Whether or not it was the right move to intentionally provoke and target them is up for debate, but the writers are not trying to put all honest, negative opinions into this category. Obviously, there are plenty of normal, decent people who watched this show and did not like for completely rational reasons, and the creative team knows this. It is incredibly unfortunate that the toxic positivity side to this has decided to push all of these people under this label, and I think that the show should take responsibility for starting it up. But as for what THEY were trying to convey, I do think that there is a substantial difference. At least that’s my opinion, and I fully respect yours, no matter how it differs. Keep up the awesome work!!!!

Respect to you sean you are one of the few content creators a critics who actually criticise marvel projects and call them out on their mistakes. I'm very disappointed in the mcu and it just feels like a joke and incoherent. What's stopping she hulk from just breaking the fourth wall when fighting against kang and just end that plot before it even starts

Most people watched for the cameos and connections to the greater MCU. The show was terrible. Didn’t laugh once. But it’s good if people enjoyed it.

Marvel took another hit with the TV shows with this finale. I can’t say it’s all been bad since Werewolf By Night was good, but Marvel has not had a very good year in my opinion

This ending feels like the writers realized the show was bad so they made it seem like "iT wAs OuR pLaN aLl AlOnG, LoOk hOw FuNnY aNd ClEvEr We ArE" to excuse the bad writing decisions.

I feel like the pitch for this episode was a great idea on paper, a massive fourth wall breaking episode that just goes bananas, BUT in the process of making such a bonkers idea come to life the writer’s completely forgot to give any of the characters arcs or actually explain anything about what’s going on with Hulk and his “kid”

You know what's crazy, and I'm calling people out on this are people like 3C Films and Reel Rejects who love this stuff. I was blinded by the hype of having more MCU content with shows and movies. But man these YouTubers are throwing shade at people like Critical Drinker, Tyrone Magnus, yourself now and us the fans saying that we hate everything Marvel is making. Adding on that we can't have fun and that She-Hulk was not bad, that it wasn't as good as other shows but still good. It's just being a toxic positive fan boy and I just can't back that up. Thank you for keeping it 100 !!

There are some points I agree with in your commentary, and some that I don't. It's not a critique of your show or your opinions... just expressing mine. Still love your work:

The points I agree with:

* The concern I had at the start was the fourth wall for this show would be part of the MCU canon, and it was handled pretty well until this episode. The MCU handles continuity really well, but this one is hard to wrap one's head around in how it fits in the universe.
* I would have liked to see more legal storylines too.
* The humor of the whole series had more misses than hits. For Season 2, a real comedy writer or writers need to be brought in.
* Despite the rather surprising way they ended this (which no one expected and makes me laugh), I agree I wasn't satisfied. This should have at least had a two episode ark.

The points I disagree with:

* I don't think Marvel is criticizing everyone who dislikes the show. I think they're criticizing toxic trolls who hate this show, and attacked it before it even released And considering the planning ahead they had to do, their precognition it would happen was spot on. I didn't see this show in any way as an attack on those who disliked the show for its tone, style, lack of real comedy, odd character moments, and weak episodes. This series was a mixed bag for me and I didn't feel personally attacked by Marvel.
* Marvel did a fair amount of self-critique as well: the "daddy issues" comment from Jen about many of the MCU characters, Kevin being an AI who relies on formula to much, the over-the-top CGI slugfests in the third act, the lack of emotional and personal stakes in some of their movies and shows, the indirect admission their VFX teams are stretched thin, the Writers Room being a bunch of Kevin Yes Men terrified of the guy, contrived over-used MacGuffins and plot lines. They didn't whitewash any of that and the Kevin AI capitulating to Jen's critiques of Marvel I took as the real Kevin Feige saying he's listening to valid criticisms.
* I don't think viewers will need to watch this show to understand Skaar. Wherever Skaar shows up again, possibly in a World War Hulk movie, Marvel will have a flashback or something explaining all this, and no She-Hulk viewing would be required.

My takeaway:

I give them credit trying something way out there. It didn't land for me, but considering people have been whining about MCU content being formulaic and all the same, I'm going to credit them with trying new things. In all experiments, some things work, and some things don't. Maybe they'll learn from this, maybe they won't.

But at the end of the day, this is all entertainment. It's supposed to be fun. I'm cool with rational, intelligent critique on a channel such as yours. But the internet and YouTube have really accelerated the last few years on commentary on "how this is the worst thing ever" and "it ruined my childhood" and spending hours in angry rants before the product is even released. Are we all so angry that even entertainment sends us into blind rages? I think the world needs to seriously chill out. Directors and actors are actively coming out saying they won't do a Marvel or Star Wars project because the fandom has gotten so toxic, literally sending these creatives death threats. That is bonkers. If there's something I don't like, meh.... no repeat viewings from me and I move on to something else. I'm not letting the entertainment I want to enjoy and let me escape a few hours or so rent space in my head. Not everything is meant for me, and I'm not so entitled that I believe it should be.

Apologies for such a long comment. This is meant as a respectful response. I love your channel and will continue to enjoy your content. Have a pleasant evening!

Good:  The 4th wall breaking in the episode was easily the best 4th wall breaking in the season.   It's just cool to see She Hulk break through the title card of her own show, break open the Marvel Assembled title card and just walk right in to the writers room and criticize them for what they keep doing in every marvel project.  It was also fun have her interact with K.E.V.I.N.  Which immediately made me think it was gonna be Kevin Feige.  But its actually an A.I robot making all the decisions.   Having her quote on quote. "Fix the finale"   by erasing all the stupid things the episode was doing.

Negatives: This was just another bad example of a very rushed season finale.   Maybe the worst case of this. I also  feel like, by having Jen break the 4th wall so hard.  That she had to explain what the episode was doing wrong.  Which by itself is funny, but it gives me the impression that the writers knew they were being lazy.   Cause it tried following the typical marvel ending, that's been done a million times.  Also didn't feel like it resolved any of the plot lines at all or at least not well enough.

Overall:  I didn't hate the show.   I enjoyed it when it wasn't leaning so heavily into the cringey humor.  I thought Tatiana Masalany was good in the role.  It was good to see Daredevil and some of the humor was funny.   But it just failed at the execution of the story and failed to deliver a satisfying ending.
