I didn't know that corner placements could affect a troop so much

For the xbow part at 6:43, another key reason to not place it in the middle is that it means troops on both sides can tank for the x bow which makes it a lot easier to defend, compared to placing it on the sides which forces troops to be played around that side to tank.

In a two tower situation if they are going for king you can place a building in the lost tower's corner to pull their win condition

You forgot that in 2 tower situation air troops never go to the king tower so playing them in the corner is actually better

I found this video very helpful. Making videos like this where you explain interactions and difference in placements and like showing what moving a troop by each tile and the effect it could have is very useful for a CR player to improve.
